The brief
Create a social community where athletes and clubs come together, with activities everyone can join in.
The recording
- Led engineering and product teams across England, Poland, India and Bosnia & Herzegovina, shipping the iOS app, Android app, community blog and website.
- Delivered beta apps in 12 weeks, so the leadership team and experience designers could test their product ideas with real users.
- Wrote a three-year roadmap balancing new features, enhancements, bug fixes and technical debt, with the P&L forecasts to match.
- Brought in best practices and new processes across engineering and product to support fast growth.
- Planned and designed the move from inherited monolithic services to serverless APIs, which made the apps much faster.
How it charted
After the beta, the apps launched publicly on the App Store and Google Play, and the community grew as athletes and clubs signed up and joined in.
